Images
Wellcome Images is an online resource of more than 160 000 photographs and photographic reproductions. These images, many digitised, are freely available for study, publication or broadcast.
Readers can save images using lightboxes, and email or download image files for private or academic use. Downloaded images are in a size appropriate for importing into standard applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint.

Moving image and sound
The Library has rich collections of film, video and audio, broadcast and non-broadcast, covering a wide variety of historical and contemporary subjects from the social to the clinical. The Moving Image and Sound Collections can be searched in the Library catalogue.
Supporting materials giving insight into the making of some of the films – such as correspondence and scripts – are also available.
Viewing originals
View the Library's wealth of visual resources in their original formats – from prints, drawings and paintings to pastels, watercolours and printed ephemera (advertisements, packaging etc.) – in our Rare Materials Reading Room. The collections can be searched in the Library catalogue.
