Hindu temples on the river at Jumna, India

Coloured aquatint by Thomas Daniell, 1795. Vrindravan (Brindaban, Bindraban etc.) is the sacred city where Krishna spent his childhood. Temples were built beside the river Jumna across which the baby Krishna had been carried at night. The print by Daniell was used by Humphrey Repton as a source for his design of an aviary at the Royal Pavilion, Brighton.
