Computers, printers and WiFi

Wireless internet access (WiFi)

WellcomeNet, our WiFi internet service, is available free to registered users.

This service is subject to your acceptance of the Wellcome Trust's usage policy on free internet access.

You are welcome to use laptops in the Library and sockets are provided for this purpose. Laptops, PDAs and other personal equipment are brought into the Library at your own risk.

Workstations

You can log in at one of our computers using your Library Card number. Here, you can access a wide variety of resources, including online catalogues, e-journals, databases and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

A dedicated assistive technologies workstation is available in the Enquiry Hall.

Users must abide by the Library's Computer use policy.

Printers

We have both black-and-white and colour printers, which you can activate with your Library Card. Use the cash value loader kiosk in the Copy Services room to add credit to your Card. The price per A4 page is 5p for black-and-white and 25p for colour.

Audiovisual equipment

Materials from the Moving Image and Sound Collections can be viewed on the AV workstation in the Journals Hall. You may use your personal headphones or borrow a set from the Enquiry Desk.
