Bring our catalogue to you
Do you want to save yourself the time and effort of finding the Library catalogue or Encore every time you want to look something up? Would you rather have it in your workspace rather than ours?
We have created a number of ways to bring the Wellcome Library catalogue or Encore to you. Choose whichever suits how you work or what you use:
Google Toolbar button
Add a Wellcome Library catalogue or Wellcome Library Encore button to your Google Toolbar
1. From the Google Toolbar buttons gallery:
1.1. search for 'Wellcome' or
1.2. go to the installation link (catalogue) or installation link (Encore).
2. Click Add to add the button to your Google Toolbar.
3. Click OK.
4. The button is now available to use on your Toolbar.
5. To uninstall, go to Settings > Options > Buttons from your Toolbar.
Google gadget for your iGoogle home page – catalogue and Encore search
Add a Wellcome Library catalogue or Wellcome Library Encore gadget to your iGoogle home page
1. From your iGoogle home page find the Wellcome Library catalogue or Encore Google gadget:
1.1. click the Add stuff link, and search for 'Wellcome', or
1.2. go to the iGoogle directory.
2. At the Wellcome Library or Wellcome Library (Encore search) gadget click Add it now.
3. Click OK to add your chosen gadget to your iGoogle home page.
4. Go to your iGoogle home page to start using the gadget.
5. To uninstall, select the 'X' in the top right of the gadget.
Google gadget for your iGoogle home page – RSS feeds
Add a Wellcome Library RSS feeds gadget to your iGoogle home page
1. From your iGoogle home page click the Add stuff link, then Add feed or gadget
2. Copy and paste in the gadget url http://library.wellcome.ac.uk/wellcome-library-feeds-tabs.xml and Add
3. Go to your iGoogle home page to start using the gadget
4. To uninstall, select the 'X' in the top right of the gadget
Firefox search engine for the catalogue
1. Go to the Wellcome Library catalogue.
2. The search-box surround changes colour to indicating that a search plug-in is available.
3. Click the down arrow and select Add "Wellcome Catalogue".
4. Wellcome catalogue keyword searching is now available from your browser.
5. To uninstall, select Manage search engines… from the drop-down menu, highlight the search engine and select Remove.
Firefox search engine for Encore
A Firefox search engine for Encore is now available. To add it to Firefox:
1. Go to Encore.
2. Follow the Firefox search engine instructions above, but instead
3. Add "Wellcome Encore"
IE7 search engine for the catalogue
1. Go to the Wellcome Library catalogue.
2. The search-box surround changes colour indicating that a search plug-in is available.
3. Click the down arrow and go to Add Search Providers > Wellcome Catalogue.
4. Wellcome catalogue keyword searching is now available from your browser.
5. To uninstall, go to Change Search Defaults > Remove.
IE7 search engine for Encore
An IE7 search engine for Encore is now available. To add it to IE7:
1. Go to Encore.
2. Follow the IE7 search engine instructions above, but instead
3. Add "Wellcome Encore"
