Use of electronic resources
Licensed resources
The Wellcome Library subscribes to online resources (databases and electronic journals) and makes them available to its registered users. Each resource is available under a licence from the publisher which permits certain uses and forbids others. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of electronic resources complies with copyright law, as well as with usage
restrictions imposed by providers.
When you join the Wellcome Library, you agree to abide by these conditions of use, as part of the Library’s computer use policy.
Permitted uses of online resources
Typically, you may:
• Use a resource for non-commercial research or private study
• Print a single copy of limited portions for personal use
• Download limited portions for personal use
Some resources are now also available offsite via the Library's remote access service.
Prohibited uses
You should not:
• Use a resource for any commercial purpose
• Remove, obscure or modify any copyright notices
• Make multiple print or electronic copies

You may download or print material for the purposes of non-commercial research or private study without the permission of the copyright owner.
When copying it is strongly recommended to observe the guidance provided below unless you have a specific permission from the copyright owner.
Unless otherwise stated ALL material on the internet is protected by copyright.

• You are advised to carefully read all copyright notices and/or use restrictions on any website from which you intend to download or print.
• You may download or print a single copy for personal use.
• You must acknowledge the copy unless impracticable to do so.
