Tours and visits
You can visit the Library on its own, or you can combine your trip with an event, a conference, a visit to the exhibitions or a gallery tour.
Our tours programme enables individuals and groups to explore the Library's collections with an expert guide.
Independent visitors - 'Insights' sessions
The Library offers several themed 'Insights' sessions each month. Staff will guide you through the collections and give you an opportunity to explore some of the treasures in the Wellcome Library close up. The sessions last approximately one hour.
Current themes include:
Madness, Francis Crick: DNA and beyond, Native Americans, Healing Herbs, The Occult, Anatomies of London, Caricatures and Cartoons, Fascinating Faces, From Deviance to Diversity, William Morris and the Wellcome Library.
The sessions are free, but places are limited. Please collect your free ticket from the Information Desk before the session - tickets are available from 90 minutes before the start time. (ie. tickets available from 13.30 for 15.00 starts, tickets available from 16.30 for 18.00 starts.)
The meeting point for the session is the lobby outside the Club Room on the second floor of Wellcome Collection. Please leave coats and bags in the cloakroom before making your way there to meet a member of staff.

Group visits
We can arrange bespoke tours for groups and organisations interested in using the Wellcome Library.
Student groups
If you need to arrange a more specific visit for a group of students, please contact us at: librarygroupvisits@wellcome.ac.uk. We will need to know how many people are in the group (we can accommodate 6-15), the subject focus/specific needs of the group, and when you would like to visit. The maximum visit duration will be three hours.
Virtual visits
If you are unable to visit the library, perhaps we can come to you. If you have access to videoconferencing equipment, you can have a short virtual visit to the Library. For further details, please contact us at: librarygroupvisits@wellcome.ac.uk.
